A pair of 14cm stainless steel scissors supplied with one straight blade pair and one curved, for the jobs that come up around whelping and grooming.

The curved tip is the one breeders reach for. Working around a newborn, curved blades let you cut with the points angled away from skin, which matters when the puppy is moving and you are not. The straight pair handles cord, tape, bandage and packaging.

Keep a dedicated pair in the whelping kit rather than borrowing the grooming ones. Dry them properly after disinfecting, since water left sitting in the pivot is what eventually stiffens a cheap pair.
