When Artificial Insemination Is Used

AI is used when a natural mating is not practical or not safe: geographically distant stud dogs, size mismatches, inexperienced dogs, or a bitch who will not stand. Done properly it is routine. Done casually it risks infection and injury, and it is not a substitute for veterinary involvement in a difficult breeding.

What a Kit Contains

Catheter rods

Our insemination catheter rods at around $67 are the reusable option, and the disposable insemination tubes at around $36 the single use one. Disposable removes the sterilisation question entirely.

Measuring applicators

Timing Is Everything

Most AI failures are timing failures, not technique failures. Progesterone testing through your vet is the only reliable way to identify the fertile window. Counting days from the first sign of season is guesswork, and a well executed insemination on the wrong day produces nothing.

Hygiene

Sterile or single use, every time. An infection introduced during insemination can end a bitch's breeding career and threaten her life.
