Skin Closure Strips, Sterile

Narrow adhesive strips, individually wrapped and sterile, used to hold the edges of a small clean wound together.

Most breeders keep a pack in the first aid box for the same reason they keep styptic powder: not to treat anything, but to have something appropriate on hand while arranging a vet visit. They are not a substitute for stitching and they are not for anything deep, dirty, bleeding heavily or older than a few hours.

• Individually wrapped, sterile until opened

• Flexible backing that moves with the skin

• Adhesive on one side, applied across the wound

• Single use, discard after removal

• Supplied as a pack

Skin must be clean and completely dry or the adhesive will not hold. Fur around the area usually needs clipping first. If a strip lifts, replace it rather than pressing it back down.
