Dachshund Harness, Step In Padded

A foam padded step-in harness with a saddle back panel, sized from XS. Built for a long-backed, short-legged dog rather than adapted to one.

Why it works

• Step in, not over the head. The dog puts its front legs through and the harness closes on the back. No lifting a long-bodied dog by the front end, no dragging webbing over the ears.
• Load sits on the chest and back, not the neck. The saddle panel spreads lead pressure across the shoulders and ribcage. A flat collar concentrates all of it on the throat.
• Padded handle on the back panel for lifting into a car or off a couch, so you are not scooping under the belly.
• Foam padded throughout and adjustable at the girth, which matters on a breed that changes shape through the year.

Sizing

Measure the chest at its widest, just behind the front legs. Standard Dachshunds usually take S or M; miniatures usually XS or S.
