Two speeds, because a Chihuahua and a Rottweiler are not the same job. The low setting is for small dogs, cats and puppies, where control matters more than removal rate. The high setting is for thick adult nails that would take all afternoon on low.
Why it works
Running the right speed is what keeps the nail cool. Too slow on a thick nail means long contact and heat build up. Too fast on a thin nail removes material before you have registered how far down you are. Having the choice is the point.
Low noise and low vibration throughout. Vibration travels up the paw and is often what a dog is actually reacting to, not the sound.
For breeders
A single tool that covers the litter and the adults. Start the puppies on low during handling sessions and the sound stops being novel long before their first proper trim.
Using it
Charge over USB. Pick the speed for the dog in front of you, not the last one. Two or three second passes, check, repeat. Support the paw firmly but do not squeeze the toes apart, since spreading the toes is uncomfortable and most dogs will pull away from that rather than from the grinder.
Stop at the pale circle in the centre of the filed face on a dark nail. Keep styptic powder nearby.
